Park Rapids Area Ice Conditions 1/8/2017

Although we have seen a fair amount of snow this winter, Ice conditions have rapidly improved with the cold snap we are experiencing.The cold front is making the pan fish a little picky, but reports are very strong on Walleye hunting for food on the sand flats. Pike fishing has also been improving around the weed linesMost area lakes are showing over 12″ of Ice and people are starting to drive out with larger trucks and putting out 16ft and larger fish houses. Make sure to test your lakes ice conditions before going out.
