Nine Year Old Wins Ice Castle Fish House at Park Rapids Ice Fishing Derby

Nine year old, Lee Perrington  is a “lifelong” fisherman from the Deer River area. He spends countless hours fishing in the hot, cold, winter, spring, summer and fall. All of these days of fishing paid off on Feb. 7th at the Park Rapids American Legion Ice Fishing Derby when he was able to land a 1.78 pound northern pike. This fish put him in the perfect position to win a prize, as the day went on, things were looking better and better and it was announced that he, in fact, was the winner of the 2015 Ice Castle Fish House sponsored by Smokey Hills Outdoor Store. Lee and his ten year old brother were so very excited to out-fish the masses. Their father Jake Perrington set the bar high five years ago, at the very same tournament, when he won a brand new ATV. It’s looking like this won’t be the last we see of this fishing family, stay tuned…
