Park Rapids, Minnesota Area Fishing Report 5/28/16Walleye – Looking for the warmest waters to spawn in anywhere from 8-16 ft of water or on the weedlines, rockbeds and drop-offs. On the search for a Kenkatch “Longshank Jig” in either 1/8 th or ¼ oz tipped with a large leech or shiner minnow for best luck!Northern- Searching for easy prey hanging around structure like timber, tall cabbage and lilly pads. The more noise the better especially with a Terminator “Spinnerbait in 3/8 th or ½ oz. Live bait users tie up a Gamakatsu “Octopus Circle hook” paired with a sucker minnow or shiner.
Bass- Up Shallow in 1-6 looking for lots of cover like lilly pads, cabbage, timber, bulrushes and structure for the spawn, . On the hunt for a Booyah “Boo Jig” paired with a YUM “Chunk”.
Panfish and Crappie- 3-9 ft sitting on and around their beds waiting for the spawn to hatch. Tie on a Mr.Crappie “Slab Daddy” or a Northland “Slurpies” Either paired with a waxy, small leech, or crappie minnow.
